A while back, I heard about Gussy planning her Giveaway Day. When I saw that she was still reviewing shops to see who else she wanted to add, I just knew I had to enter to see if I could make it in. Within a few days, she emailed me back to let me know I was in. YES! There’s only been one other time that I’ve tried to get in on somebody’s Giveaway Day, and I didn’t officially enter it in time to even be considered. So this was my first time being featured on someone else’s blog. It made me excited and scared as crap all at once! But bravely – I moved forward with it…
Then comes yesterday, the day of the BIG Giveaway. Gussy was lining all of us featured shopkeepers up in a row and we were each to take a turn on the hour, in whatever order she picked (not revealed until after each shop’s review/giveaway was posted). Of course, she did all of the legwork and posts, which required nothing more of us. Our parts had already been done. Easy enough for us, right? But I had NO idea when I was up. Excited? Yes. Nerve wracking? You betcha!
This took me back to elementary school and being required to play kickball for P.E. Seriously, I never understood why we were required to have fun? Anyway, I was always nervous about my first kick during the game – and couldn’t stand waiting for that first kick. I hated all eyes being on ME. What if I kicked as hard as I could and only stirred up dust as my leg missed the ball and I fell flat on my back? What if I kicked so hard that my shoe went flying out in the field? Or can I actually make my foot connect with the ball in just the right manner and timing so that it propels the ball forward and – dare I think it? – all the way to the back fenceline? <gaspers!>
Just thinking of all of that would tie anyone’s stomach up enough to give them diarrhea. Well, that works, too, because one way or another – you’d really need to just totally sit out of the game.
You’ll be glad to know that I made it through my turn on Gussy’s Blog yesterday without having the runs or sitting out. I am loving watching the feedback come in – and enjoying entering all of the other shopkeepers’ giveaways! Maybe I’ll win something?!? Did you enter to win yet? There are lots of cool things to try ‘n get! You have until Wednesday, January 27th at 10 pm. http://maggiewhitley.blogspot.com/
And by the way, if you have a shop and sell shtuffs, then I highly recommend being a part of Giveaway Days. There is nothing like the pressure or the joy you experience with being involved in it.

Good for you! I am glad it was a positive experience…now lets see you do it again!
Blessings-
Amanda

Amber, I am totally with you on the kickball thing–I was so un-athletic when I was little, but I’d try SO hard!
Sadly, I didn’t win anything from Gussy’s giveaway day, but I did love seeing all the shops and goodies.
Thanks for stopping by, Jacky!
