Parmesan Artichoke Pizza

I had to use up ingredients tonight for pizza toppings, and this turned out to be such a winner that I knew I needed to share with ya! If you would like to see my how-to on making your own pizza, then just CLICK HERE to go to my past post about it.

So really quick, this is all you need:

  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • salt crystals [or reg. sea salt], to taste
  • fresh ground pepper, to taste
  • dried oregano, to taste
  • dried basil, to taste
  • best grade mozzerella cheese, sliced
  • parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 can of artichoke hearts, roughly chopped
  • half of white onion, thinly sliced
  • mushrooms, sliced

After you’ve prepared your pizza dough on the pan, then pour on 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil. Spread the love all around with your fingers, going right up to the edges of the crust. Shake on a little of your herbs and seasonings all over. Then add on your mozz. cheese and parmesan cheese. Last, add on the artichokes, mushrooms and onions. [If you do not like your mushrooms and onions on the soggy side, then it is important to add these toppings on LAST or else they won't crisp up in the oven as good! - Little tip there.]

Make it and love it!!

*I’m sharing this on Tasty Tuesday over at Balancing Beauty & Bedlam. Be sure to check out the other food shtuffs going on there, too!*

Except for the artichokes and mushrooms, this sounds delicious!
Question for ya…do your little ones always eat the veggies, or do they pick stuff out?

Most of the times, our kids don’t pick through their food. I think it’s because a.) me and Corey aren’t really picky eaters, so nothing to pass down there and b.) we continually serve up stuff like this to them so they are not afraid of it. For the most part, they love it all!

Okay, you need to come over to our home and try it WITH the artichokes and mushrooms! We can make it together. What are ya waiting for?

      • Chrissy says:

I’m trying not to be as picky, (and eat my green beans with the rest of them!), but ya know, it’s harder to make hubby go along and eat his healthy food, too (although I’ve seen him try a couple times!). Maybe if I actually cooked more often…
Yes, I would love to help and try it out! Mike and I were thinking maybe August?? We’ll talk :)

August would be awesome! I will serve you up some FRESH green beans straight off the vine! You pick it. I’ll cook it. ;)

This looks good and reminds me I haven’t made pizza in a long time. I clicked on the older post and you say you use a stone to bake the pizza on but in the photo there is a holey tin in the background. Just curious. I use a two part pizza pan and the top piece looks like that.

      Hi Darla!
Thanks! And YES – I do use the pizza stone, in addition to the perforated pizza pan. Although, like I said in the previous post, the stone is DEF my fav!! You should try it with the stone. It makes the perfect crust~!
