Caroline Johansson, a freelance graphic designer/illustrator creates great art – and I am loving this cute little desktop background she made for all of us to enjoy. Go here to download it for free. It comes in several different sizes, so there’s sure to be one you can nab.

Inspiring Find: Yulia Brodskaya

Yulia Brodskaya is a native Russian with an extensive background in artwork of typography and paper. A quick look at her portfolio shows her talent in creating things with intricate detail work. While her typography and drawing skillz are definitely something to love, I am in most admiration of her quilling creations with paper! Quilling is something I’ve wanted to try my hand at ever since I first heard about it a few years ago, and her work is definitely an inspiration in that area! I don’t know that I could ever be as awesome as she is, though. Just take a look at more of her work:

Yes, that is paper!! Oh my – what talent! I am in awe.

It’s absolutely no wonder she has been featured all over the place and gets commissioned by big companies to produce artwork. She has got it going on! Maybe I could just…you know…do a little quilling on a card or something. Maybe a simple flower, or a basic heart. You know…ultra basic.

Hope her work has inspired you as much as it has me!

When I first saw this, I thought “How awesome! If only everyone had that kinda attitude!”

…But then I quickly remembered several peeps who get kinda grumpy or illogical or in denial over their birthdays, so I decided that this can’t possibly work for everyone! However, if you’re one of those people who actually enjoys your birthdays and sees it as a good thing – then this is your ticket! I’m gonna try this – beginning tomorrow.

I have seen so many cute ideas for Vday decor and yummies floating around in the WWW, and wanted to share a few that really caught my eye. Some of these ideas – I want to try myself!

Lovely Handmade Pottery: by Jeanette Zeis

Does it truly get any more charming than this? – - Than to dine off of innocent pastel colored ceramics, all made by the talented hands of Jeanette Zeis? Zeis runs a shop on Etsy called Vessels and Wares, where she sells lots of handthrown pottery – anything from plates to hanging planters, to mugs and single cupcake stands. You will love to know that it is all food-safe, lead-free and dishwasher-safe.

Can you handle all of these scalloped edges? Oh my. I would love to have an entire set with each piece a different color. It would be the perfect touch for a garden party or a bridal luncheon.

And speaking of weddings, wouldn’t this make a beautiful wedding or anniversary gift? What I love are the personal touches. Have the happy couple’s names hand written into the side of the cake stand. Add in some hand carved touches. It is perfection. If you are bride, consider registering with Zeis’ shop instead of getting something mass produced.

Ranunculus Finds on Etsy

Ranunculus: one of my all time favorite flowers! They look like a cross between a rose and a peony and come in a gorgeous array of colors. I have called around to several nurseries here inquiring about them, and am disappointed to hear the person on the other end of the line saying “Huh? A WHAT? Can you spell that for me?” And I know that we can grow it here. This is zone 7 after all, people!

While not everyone in NC has heard of this brilliant flower, there are plenty of people on Etsy who have. So this is where I will send all those people when they act clueless about Ranuncu-WHAT? I wanted to share some nifty finds with you today and hope it brightens up your week!

Sometimes you come across someone’s work and it just totally feels comfortable because it speaks to your heart so closely! I find that in Katie Daisy’s work because I get lost in the colors she’s chosen….the typography…the style…ooo la la! It’s all so totally perfect! DEFINITELY take a peek~!

And don’t forget to check her out more on her website, and possibly even shop around her place on Etsy. Her work is totally fab and makes me happy!

Inspiring Find: Rebecca Thuss

Ah! I looked at every single page in this portfolio! It inspires me so much and makes me want to get crafty.

I wondered why Rebecca Thuss‘s style seemed so familiar, and discovered that she used to be some of the main creative talent behind Martha Stewart Weddings. So I have admired her work for years but only indirectly! I am not only inspired by her previous work, but also in the design skillz that she’s manifesting today.

What’s been inspiring your creativity this week?
